16 Days of Action and Spiking Intensification 25/11/25-24/12/25 From 25th November to 24th December the Metropolitan police conducted 16 Days of Action targeting Violence against women and girls and drink spiking. In this time Bexley SNT conducted an extensive number of activities around Bexley to combat VAWG. Throughout this period there have been 1,286 physical engagements with members of the public. This has been through various events include community meetings, joint working with local authorities, a focus upon VAWG within a retail setting, high-visibility patrols and VAWG Operations. Events and engagement have stretched across the borough and touched a wide range of demographics and also encompassed males as well as offering advice to females. It has touched all times of day from events within the day to reassurance patrols across peak periods.
Within the NTE SNT’s and Licensing officers have given out Op Rana (Anti Spiking material) to multiple venues Licensing Officers worked in partnership with the LA and attended Pub Safe meetings. Officers have discussed spiking and best practice. Officers have continued their regular NTE patrols within the Broadway, ensuring that they engage and members of public and discuss vulnerability. There was also a targeted VAWG/Anti-Spiking operation on Saturday 13th December utilising high-visibility patrols, BDO’s and suitably trained drivers to target drug and drink driving on Bexleyheath Broadway. The work in conjunction with licensed premises has been central to the success over this period. Problem Solving discussions with the local authority have led to funding of extra street security within the Night-Time Economy with a VAWG focus. This has been very successful with safety being a priority.
